Is anybody else loving this crazy good March weather this week? We took advantage of the 75 degree weather this weekend and headed to the beautiful  This Is The Place Heritage Park.

We had never done a trail ride at This Is The Place and we were pleased as punch with our ride & overall experience! They have a gorgeous outfit, friendly staff, & were very well organized. Best of all, we felt like we were visiting our very own ranch.

We made our appointments ahead of time for the four of us. My hubby, myself, our 9 year old daughter and her friend. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly Cowboy James, had a little paper work to do, and were introduced to our horses; Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, and Elsa. Cowboy James and his assistant got our horses ready, helped us into the saddle, gave us a few instructions and off we headed for the near by hills with our guide. Marlee, the dog, came along to scout things out, play in the stream and chase the wild geese! The girls LOVED having her tag along!

Even in March, the trails are beautiful! You can definitely see that everything is waking up and that spring is upon us!

The horses are all very well trained. I was little nervous with the girls on their own horses at the beginning, but the horses were excellent, stayed on the trail and pretty much stayed in a single file line. We only had to give the horses a few commands and the 9 year old girls did awesome; regular cowgirls! We all Loved it! The beautiful views and sunshine were like the frosting on the top! {not to mention the record breaking temps in SLC}

Marlee the dog got ALOT of love and attention from these two and was very patient with the girls.

The girls had to take Marlee with them everywhere to explore…I’m not sure if they enjoyed the horses or Marlee better, Ha!

They have done a fantastic job with the set up; we felt very comfortable and right at home. Cowboy James is very down to earth and friendly. He and my hubby had a lot to talk about and he chatted with us for quite awhile after our ride, and didn’t make us feel rushed at all.

I cannot say ENOUGH about how much we enjoyed our time horseback riding at This Is The Place!
