Fall Turkey Brine Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • gallons water
  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 1 1/2 cups Real Salt Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp whole peppercorns
  • 5 bay leaves
  • 6-8 garlic cloves crushed
  • 5 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 oranges sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Method
 

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large stockpot and bring to a boil.
  2. Stir until the salt and sugar fully dissolve.
  3. Remove from heat and cool completely.
  4. Submerge your turkey in the chilled brine and refrigerate for 16–24 hours.
  5. Remove the turkey from brine, rinse well, and pat dry.
  6. Proceed with your preferred roasting method (see mine below).
