Spiced Maple Protein Steamer (Cozy, High-Protein Drink!)

When the weather cools down, all I want is something warm, cozy, and a little bit sweet — and this Spiced Maple Protein Steamer checks every box. It tastes like a creamy maple latte meets warm fall spices… but without the caffeine and with a boost of protein to keep you full and energized.

It’s the perfect afternoon pick-me-up, a healthier “treat” on cold evenings, or even a simple breakfast drink when you want something soothing and nourishing. If you love cozy drinks that feel indulgent but still pack in good ingredients, this one’s for you.

Why You’ll Love This Spiced Maple Steamer

  • High protein — thanks to the Maple Protein Powder (found here!) Make suse and use my code GARDENSPOT for a discount on your order!
  • Naturally sweetened with real maple syrup
  • Warm + cozy spices that feel like fall in a mug
  • Kid-friendly and caffeine-free
  • Ready in under 10 minutes

This is basically comfort in a cup — without the sugar crash.

How to Make a Spiced Maple Protein Steamer

1. Prep the protein

Whisk the protein powder with 3–4 tablespoons of cool milk until smooth and lump-free. This creates a slurry that mixes beautifully with warm liquid (and prevents clumping!).

2. Heat the milk

In a small saucepan, warm the remaining milk & water over medium heat until it’s steaming — not boiling.
Stir in the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves (if using), sea salt, and vanilla extract.

I’ve been eyeing this to skip the saucepan

3. Combine

Remove the pan from the heat. Slowly whisk in the protein slurry until fully combined and creamy.

4. Froth + serve

Froth the steamer if you’d like, then pour into your favorite mug and top with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon. Sip and enjoy!

Tips & Variations

  • Make it extra sweet: add a drizzle of maple syrup on top.
  • Add a cozy twist: sprinkle a little pumpkin spice.
  • Want it dairy-free? Use cashew, oat, or almond milk — all work great.

This drink has become one of my go-to cozy, wintertime favorites. It feels like something you’d order at a café, but it’s packed with protein, naturally sweetened, and so easy to make at home. Save this one for chilly mornings, after-school snacks, or any time you want something warm and comforting.
