Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bear Popcorn {Gluten Free}

Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bear Popcorn

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Bear Popcorn! Yum!

Last week for Activty Days (a church group program for girls) one of my fellow leaders Kay, brought the ingredients for the girls to make this Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Bear popcorn.

She was so kind to share her recipe with me & allow me to share it with all of you.

Kay normal makes this recipe at Christmas time, but thought it would make a fun Valentines treat too, & I couldn’t agree more!

If you’ve followed along for awhile, you know I really love a good, simple recipe. This definitely qualifies as one of those, & it comes to gether in under 15 minutes!

You’ll need Karo Syrup, popcorn, butter, vanilla, sugar, mini marshmallows, cinnamon bears or hearts, sprinkles (optional) and this giant disposable pan for easy tossing and clean up!

Air pop some popcorn. We love our air popper and have had it for years! If you are local, we love Dibble Farms popcorn. You can pick it right up at their barn.

Cut up cinnamon bears or hearts (These ones are Gluten Free). I like to use kitchen scissors & cut them into sixths. (This step probably takes the longest.)

I used a large disposable pan to make mixing easy. Don’t forget to add mini marshmallows. And top everything off with Valentine’s Day or Christmas Sprinkles.

Yum!

Last minute we decided sprinkles would be fun & sprinkled ours with cute little heart sprinkles.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup light karo syrup
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup un-popped kernels, popped
  • 10 pkg. mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 pound cinnamon bears or hearts cut up in sixths

Method

  1. Combine, Karo syrup, sugar, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil for two minutes. Remove Pam from heat and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
  3. Whilst sugar/butter mixture is coming to a boil, airpop your popcorn kernels into a large bowl.
  4. Place popped popcorn in a large bowl or cookie sheet. Pour the sugar, butter mixture over popcorn, stirring well to coat.
  5. Lastly, toss in the marshmallows and cinnamon bears and give a good stir. Voilà! You have a ooey-gooey delicious Valentine's Day treat. We also love adding cute valentine or Christmas sprinkles at the end depending on the season.

*We also thought it would be cute to add some conversation hearts and/or Valentines sprinkles to make it even more festive!
*This is also a great Christmas time treat.

We love visiting for  Dibble Farms  for our fresh homegrown popcorn.
