Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Bear Popcorn! Yum!
Last week for Activty Days (a church group program for girls) one of my fellow leaders Kay, brought the ingredients for the girls to make this Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Bear popcorn.
She was so kind to share her recipe with me & allow me to share it with all of you.
Kay normal makes this recipe at Christmas time, but thought it would make a fun Valentines treat too, & I couldn’t agree more!
If you’ve followed along for awhile, you know I really love a good, simple recipe. This definitely qualifies as one of those, & it comes to gether in under 15 minutes!
Airpop some popcorn.
Cut up cinnamon bears or hearts. I like to use kitchen scissors & cut them into sixths. (This step probably takes the longest.)
I used a large disposable pan to make mixing easy.
Last minute we decided sprinkles would be fun & sprinkled ours with cute little heart sprinkles.
Ooey Gooey Marshmallow Cinnamon Bear Popcorn
1/2 cup light Karo Syrup
1 1/3 cups Sugar
1 cup Butter (2 sticks)
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup uncooked Popcorn (popped)
8 oz Mini Marshmallows
1/2 lb cinnamon bears or hearts ( more of less to your liking), cut up in sixths
Combine Karo syrup, sugar, and butter in a sauce pan over medium heat.
Bring to a boil for 2 minutes. Remove pan from heat and add 1 tsp Vanilla.
Whilst sugar/butter mixture is coming to a boil, air-pop your popcorn kernels into a large bowl.
Place popped popcorn in a large bowl or cookie sheet. (I used this one) Pour the sugar/butter mixture over popcorn, stirring well to coat.
Lastly, toss in the marshmallows and cinnamon bears & give it a stir. Voila! You have a ooey-gooey delicious Valentines Treat.
*We also thought it would be cute to add some conversation hearts and/or Valentines sprinkles to make it even more festive!
*This is also a great Christmas time treat.
We love visiting for Dibble Farms for our fresh homegrown popcorn.
