Warm Summer nights are my absolute favorite!
I absolutely love taking part in various summer activities! Engaging in late dinner conversations, roasting marshmallows over a fire, indulging in homemade ice cream, listening to the soothing sounds of the crickets singing, night games, spending the night outdoors, and watching an outdoor movie. However, dealing with mosquitoes can be a real hassle!! I’m determined to find a solution to minimize their presence and make our overall summer night activities much more enjoyable.
I am excited to be taking a natural approach to bug control by creating a mosquito repellent planter for our back patio. This decision comes from my desire to avoid chemical-filled bug sprays and seek a more eco-friendly alternative. The planter will not only bring a delightful aroma to our outdoor space but also aim to deter pesky mosquitoes.(fingers crossed) Our hope is that by bringing these plants in, it will implement natural solutions to the common, pesky problem of mosquitoes.

This is a fun, quick project that I hope keeps us bug bite free all summer long!

You’ll Need:
-Planter; mine is about 18×18 (similar linked here)
-Water
-Plants:
1 Citronella
2 ‘Lemon Gem’ Marigold
3 Lemon Grass
2 Catnip
3 Ageratum
4 Lemon Thyme
Here is a diagram to help you best place your plants in your pot. Happy planting!
