Not only do they smell delicious, filling your home with a warm and inviting aroma, but they also add a beautiful, festive color that enhances the overall decor of your tree. The vibrant oranges and the rich brown of cinnamon create a stunning contrast, making your tree stand out during the holiday season. These ornaments hold up beautifully from year to year, allowing you to cherish the memories of previous holidays while incorporating a touch of handmade charm.
We have a tradition of cutting down a Christmas tree every year, a fun activity that brings the entire family together in the spirit of the season. It’s so much fun to make homemade ornaments from natural ingredients, like pinecones, dried fruit, and cinnamon sticks, which not only adds a personal touch but also fills the air with delightful scents. As we gather in the crisp winter air, laughter echoes through the forest as we search for the perfect tree, making memories that we will treasure for years to come.

These come together quickly once the oranges are dehydrated. I’ve owned my dehydrator for years, and it has become an essential tool in my kitchen. There are so many uses for it, from making snacks to preserving fruits and herbs for later use in various recipes, so I truly think it’s worth investing in one if you have a garden! The ability to dehydrate seasonal produce allows you to enjoy the fruits of your labor year-round. You can watch the video here of how I put them together, where I share my favorite tips and tricks for achieving the best results while making the most of your dehydrator.

Create festive orange and cinnamon stick ornaments for your Christmas tree using natural ingredients. Their delightful aroma and vibrant colors enhance your decor while offering a handmade charm. Embrace the holiday spirit and cherish each moment!

To make the Orange & Cinnamon Ornaments you’ll need:
-Dehydrated oranges; I sliced mine a 1/4 inch thick and put on trays in the dehydrator set at 115° for 24 hours. This can also be done in an oven if you don’t have a dehydrator.
– Whole Cinnamon sticks (I broke mine into thirds)
Take 2 dehydrated oranges; preferably different sizes… one smaller & one larger. String with thread, tie in a square knot. Wrap the cinnamon stick, tie in a square knot. Add wooden beads, tie in a knot and hang from your tree. Watch how to video here. Enjoy!
Lemons or grapefruit would be also be so cute too!
