Homemade Grapevine and Rosemary Wreaths for Your Holiday Table

grapevine and rosemary wreath place card holders

Jazz up your holiday table with these homemade grapevine and rosemary wreaths! These are the perfect size to use as a place card holder, ensuring that each guest feels special and welcomed at your gathering. These wreaths not only enhance the aesthetics of your dining experience but also bring the delightful aroma of rosemary, creating an inviting ambiance that will delight your guests.

This project can come together very quickly, making it a perfect option for those who want to add a personal touch without a large time commitment. You can create your own grapevine wreaths if you have grapevines growing in your yard, which not only makes use of natural materials but also adds a rustic charm to your décor. Alternatively, if you don’t have access to grapevines, you can easily buy these grapevine wreaths online or at local craft stores. Personally, I used the 3-inch size to serve as place card holders at a recent gathering, and they added an elegant yet informal touch to the table setting, beautifully complementing the overall theme and enhancing the atmosphere of warmth and hospitality. Consider embellishing these wreaths with small decorations like seasonal flowers, ribbons, berries, or twinkling lights to make each wreath unique and suitable for various occasions.

I snipped the tender growth for my rosemary plants to create the green for the wreaths, ensuring that the lovely aroma would infuse the space with a sense of holiday cheer. But you could use any element from your yard to achieve a personalized touch. Whether it’s Juniper, Spruce, or even pretty pyracantha or crab apple berries, each choice adds its own character and vibrancy to your decorations. Choose whatever natural element appeals to you, allowing it to match your fun and festive holiday tablescape.

These wreaths can be made several days ahead of time to save precious minutes on the day of your gathering, allowing you to focus on enjoying the company of loved ones. If making ahead of time, I like to place them in the fridge to help keep the rosemary fresh and to prevent them from drying out, ensuring they maintain their lush appearance and delightful fragrance until it’s time to showcase them for your holiday celebration.

I made simple yet charming place cards to enhance the dining experience at our gathering. I carefully wrote the guests’ names on card stock using a marker, ensuring each name was beautifully presented and easy to read. I punched a hole in the corner of each card, allowing me to tie a delicate ribbon through it, which helped to bring a cohesive look to the table setting. If you prefer a more modern approach, you could easily print something from your computer to use instead, or you could choose to create a creative design that reflects the theme of the event.

For the wreaths you’ll need:

Rosmary; if you have your own rosemary, simple snip 2-3 inches of top growth where the stem is pliable and young.

grapevine wreaths; I used the 3 inch size

scissors and snips

bakers twine

I’ve linked everything you’ll need for the wreaths here if you prefer everything in one place.

They wash up FANTASTIC, don’t wrinkle or stain, and come in so many versatile colors, patterns, and prints that they can complement any table setting or occasion!

This particular color, called Betty Bakes, is probably one of my most used because of its simple yet sophisticated color scheme, which makes it incredibly easy to pair with other tableware and decor. These are our favorite hobnail goblets, which add a charming vintage touch to our dining table; I love the rattan placemats as they bring warmth and texture to the setting, making each meal feel special. My metal chargers are old, find similar here. Gold banded dinner plates are old, find similar here. Find my favorite flatware from Jazz Up Co. (similar here) known for its beautiful craftsmanship and contemporary style, which perfectly complements the overall aesthetic of our gatherings and elevates every dining experience. Happy Holidays!
